CalcByEA is a fully functional web calculator where every button except zero is locked behind a paywall. You buy DLC packs to unlock basic arithmetic — addition costs $0.99, multiplication $2.99, the equals sign $9.99. Zero is free. EA would never lock zero. Probably.

It is satire with teeth. A mirror held up to the video game industry's microtransaction model. In 2006, EA charged $2 for horse armor. By 2021, FIFA Ultimate Team generated $1.6 billion per year from digital card packs. We simply asked: what if we applied that same logic to a calculator?

The result: 4.2M+ operations executed, $12,860 in player spend, 0 mathematicians using it. People actually buy the packs. Not for the math — because the joke gets to them.
